Emergency Response Team Mission
The Emergency Response Team’s mission is to work to ensure the safety and care of all library collections in the event of an emergency which affects collections. To meet this obligation, the team’s primary focus is to continually review and make recommendations to the Library Administration regarding library preparedness, standards, and polices as they pertain to its disaster/emergency planning. Its secondary mission is to educate library staff and faculty in the care, handling, and response to emergencies affecting collections. In addition, the team is also responsible for the development and publication of the library’s 2019 University Libraries' Disaster Response Plan which outlines specific preservation responses to both major and minor emergencies. ERT also advocates and acts on the behalf of the University Libraries and the campus community in the event of an emergency affecting the library’s unique and valuable collections and materials.
