Almost all maps relating to the oceans, such as nautical charts and bathymetric maps, are now located at the Marine and Atmospheric Sciences Information Center (MASIC) of the School of Marine and Atmospheric Sciences (SoMAS) on the South Campus. The map collection retains a few general maps of the oceans and some historical nautical charts. Historical nautical charts of the Long Island area are filed in the cabinet in the Map Reserve Room. The others are filed by call number with the U.S. and foreign sheet maps, except for a group of old nautical charts filed under maps of the world in series.
