The Map Collection does not collect satellite images extensively. A few poster-type maps derived from satellite images are filed with the U.S. sheet maps. Satellite image based posters of New York City and Long Island are kept in the Map Office. A number of recent atlases include satellite images, particularly Ryder's Standard Geographic Reference: Satellite Photo-Atlas of the United States of America(Map/Atlas QB 637.R9). Good digital color satellite images of most major cities of the U.S. can be found in Small Blue Planet: The Cities Below (Video and Microforms CD-ROM 44).
