Master Class in Medical Education Fall 2025 Sessions
Mark your calendars! Once a month there will be a 1 hour virtual workshop that focuses on topics such as traditional teaching and flipped classroom, clinical teaching, assessment methods, remediation, curriculum design, AI in MedEd and other topics beneficial to medical educators. This flyer provides information about all of the fall sessions.
AI in Action: Practical Tools for Clinical Efficiency and Learning
This interactive workshop introduces practical AI
applications for medical education using SBU-supported tools, including Microsoft Copilot, Google Gemini, NotebookLM, Turnitin AI detector. Through hands-on activities and clinical case scenarios, residents will explore how AI can support chart review, clinical reasoning, patient
communication, documentation, and self-directed learning. The session also highlights ethical considerations and professional responsibilities
around AI use in health care, drawing on guidance from the American College of Physicians. Participants will leave with practical strategies for using AI to enhance efficiency and decision-making in pre-clinic, clinic, and post clinic settings.
IP Facilitator Professional Development Learning Community
Description: This course is designed as a learning community to enhance the skills and knowledge of faculty, staff and providers across professions to foster interprofessional collaboration and improve educational outcomes for learners. We will explore the importance of interprofessional education and collaborative practice (IPECP) in preparing future health and healthcare providers to be workforce ready. Our goal is to build a shared understanding of IPECP principles and pedagogy, and explore practical strategies for engaging learners in meaningful IP collaborative learning experiences.

The course director handbook is designed to help you in your role and is, therefore, essential reading for all course directors and co-directors. You are encouraged to pass this handbook along to your course collaborators so that everyone knows their roles and responsibilities.
