LI GeoBibliography

A bibliography of publications relating to Long Island Geology, produced by under the supervision of Geosciences Professor Gilbert Hanson, has been migrated to DSpace.

Geological Maps

The Map Collection holds about 10,000 geological maps, as well as atlases and digital materials. Many geological maps and atlases are interfiled with other materials in the Map Collection although thousands are stored in the vertical files along the north wall. Many of those are not cataloged, so for holdings, inventories should be consulted. Contact the Subject Librarian for those.

Several hundred CD-ROMs containing geological information are housed behind the Information Desk of the Science and Engineering Library. These include Geology of the Conterminous United States, and 1:250,000 scale geological maps of New York State (both surface and bedrock geology). Topographic maps, and numerous specialized map data files from the U.S.G.S. are also available. Most can be located through STARS.

Digital Elevation Models of Long Island Geology
