I bet you are wondering: why does a Study Center devoted to the founders of Abstract Expressionism in the 20th Century have a collection of materials about the American Impressionist Painters of the late 19th and early 20th Centuries? The answer is the reason why both groups of artists come to the East End of Long Island: the natural environment, the light, the sea, and the scenery. Because of this, the Study Center maintains books and artist files on American Impressionist painters.
