COLLECTIONS: eBooks: Tutorials & Help

a resource guide and pathfinder for eBooks

Why Read an eBook?

eBooks are books that can be read in electronic format on computers, tablets, smartphones, or eReaders.  They offer the same text as the print version, but with some added functionalities.  For example, eBooks are often searchable by keyword.  In addition, many offer highlighting and note-taking capabilities, with the opportunity to print, save, and e-mail some or all of the text.  eBooks are also convenient-- the Library's collection of eBooks, as well as many online collections, may be read and downloaded 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.  Though eBooks offer a reading experience that is different from that of a printed book, they are a valuable resource that supports research in a wide variety of disciplines.

Can I download a Library eBook onto my eReader?
