This guide will provide information to facilitate the transition from the "legacy" version of PubMed to the new version, and provide alternative means of searching MEDLINE.

Important Changes to MyNCBI

After June 1, 2021, My NCBI users will no longer be able to login using their My NCBI credentials. This includes access to SciENcv and MyBibliography. You must use a federated account, either through eRA Commons, Google or your institution, in order to gain access after the deadline. Users are encourage to make this change as soon as possible. Linking Your New NCBI Account to SBU Resources

Once you set up your new MyNCBI account, you will need to set your account to link to Stony Brook University's resources. You can do this by following these instructions:

Display Your Outside Tool Icons Using My NCBI

To activate your Outside Tool using My NCBI, users should:

  • Sign in to My NCBI (more about My NCBI).

  • Click the link NCBI Site Preferences, and then click Outside Tool under PubMed Preferences.

  • Select a library from the list of Outside Tool services available
