The Science and Engineering Library is located in the North Reading Room of the Melville Library. It was created in 1997 to combine the collections of the former Biology, Engineering, and Geoscience branch libraries and to serve as a general science library. The Computer Science library collection was added later. The Map Collection is also contained within this facility.

The Health Sciences Library is located on Level 3 of the Health Sciences Tower, which is adjacent to the University Hospital and Medical Center. It supports the Departments of Dental Medicine, Health Professions, Medicine, Nursing, Public Health, and Social Welfare. The Library also supports research and patient care for the University Hospital and the Long Island State Veterans Home.
