Academic Integrity

Resources and strategies

What it is & why it matters

Honesty is the cornerstone of the research, learning and creative process.  Breaches in academic integrity can result in severe penalties, including expulsion from school.

Librarians can help!

  • Partner with faculty to develop assignments that reinforce citation, paraphrasing and summarizing.
  • Incorporate discussion of academic integrity in your information literacy instruction.
  • Include demonstrations of citation and bibliographi management tools in your instruction.
  • Create handouts, tutorials and other support material to make help available in different formats.
