MFA Film

The MFA in Film is a three-year program in screenwriting, directing, and producing, with production periods culminating in a feature screenplay, an MFA thesis film, or a feature producer’s package.


Film BooksMFA Film students in Manhattan can request books and DVDs from the Stony Brook collections, including Southampton's Robert Sklar Collection, and have them sent to the city for pick-up. Before placing requests, make sure that:

  • You have a Stony Brook NET ID and password (more info)
  • You're up-to-date with any fines or issues on your library card

Requesting Books and DVDs We Own

After locating the book or DVD that you want in the Stony Brook Libraries catalog:

  1. Log into ILLiad with your NETid and password.
  2. Under "change user information," change your Pick Up location to "Manhattan."
  3. Fill in at least the author, title, and "not wanted date" for your item.
  4. Press "submit request."
  5. More about materials requested to Manhattan.
