This guide will provide information to facilitate the transition from the "legacy" version of PubMed to the new version, and provide alternative means of searching MEDLINE.

Searching MEDLINE Using Alternative Databases

For certain research projects such as systematic reviews, a database search needs to be reproducible in order to validate results. Due to the fact that artificial intelligence is used in generating results in the new PubMed, it may be necessary to utilize alternative means to search MEDLINE instead (MEDLINE is the primary component of PubMed). Several different database vendors provide a platform for searching MEDLINE, as noted below.
