GIS instruction at SBU is offered using various software packages having functionality to display, manage and/or analyze remote sensing imagery, grids and/or vectors. The SBU classes described range from introductory ones to the more advanced. ESRI Virtual Campus classes are available for free to students/faculty/staff at SBU.
Contact Sanjay Kapur (sanjay.kapur@stonybrook.edu, 631-632-8029) if you are interested in these online courses. The ones developed solely by ESRI are free, while those developed with/by a third party are not free, although you, as participants in the SUNY ESRI site license, are entitled to a 40% discount.
